Setting up flight plans is quick and easy

Easy flight planning
The flight planner lets you set up and store GA flight plans. You can add many legs to a plan, each with many waypoints. Consequently, your return flight is covered by the same flight plan as the outbound flight. Better yet, the planner creates the return leg for you automatically.

Comprehensive output
Once you've set up your legs and waypoints, the planner calculates headings, distances and times along with a comprehensive fuel plan that uses your own preferences and aeroplane's actual fuel figures.

The planner also finds weather reports, forecasts and NOTAMs for aerodromes relevant to your flight (including alternates). We plan to extend the flight planner soon to include some charting functions: airfield plans, route charts, and so on. We're also adding a safety module to help you assess whether a flight is advisable or not.

Saving and sharing
You can then save your flight plan for future use, and it keeps a record of how many times you use it. You can save time with your flight planning by searching across other users' plans too. You can share your flight plans as well, by ticking the "share flightplan" box.

At the core of the planning system is a user-extendible waypoint system, that links to overhead maps and photos. UKGA users can check and verify that waypoints are correctly positioned so you can be sure that your flight planning is accurate. You can also contribute waypoint data for yourself and others to use.
