Great airfield, love to go and watch the planes with my handheld scanner a great airport i recommend it, also in reply to previous Cherokee Heard you on radio, anyway shall be vising again soon,

We flew to Welshpool today in our Cherokee. They were friendly on the phone when geting PPR, and very friendly when we were there. The runway is lovely, the approach is exciting with the airfield being at the bottom of a valley with quite high ground on each side. Great scenery on the way in. Welshpool is a nice town, only a £3 taxi ride away, and has plenty of pubs to eat in. We walked back to the airfield from the town, along the old canal. Well worth a visit, we'll be going back, theres a castle 1 mile from the airfield to visit too !

Sat 24th July visited Welshpool very helpful staff & good runway. The airfield is in intersting countryside with some pretty high hills around, stay high till your inside the ATZ.
Took a taxi to Powys castle £3. Nice couple of hours National trust tea shop etc.
