Just visited Sherburn In Elmet today and what a superb facility. Really friendly welcome and although we didnt have time for more than a quick coffee the food looked ace.
I was right hand seat so had time to enjoy the approach which was from the west and no trouble at all finding the airfield. The whole place seems so well kept and looked after it must be a pleasure to be based there.
Will be back very soon.

Flew in from the south on a clear, CAVOK day. The airfield was very easy to find from this direction because of the line of three power stations that "funnels you in". The airfield is very clean, tidy and obviously well maintained, with a superb clubhouse and cafe (top notch bacon butties!). The whole place seemed very professionally run, and the sign outside the office is worth the visit alone!
Highly recommended. BTW don't let all that noise abatement stuff in the flight guides scare you, it's really no problem because all the NIMBY strongholds are clearly visible and easy to avoid... ; )
