“Flew into LeTouqet last Sunday- After 30 years flying my 1st time across the Channel!
I travelled with a member of the group I belong to who had done this before, so made things very easy. I would highly recommend this airfield; friendly staff, long tarmac runway, and excellent service. A visit into town is a must. Wish I'd done this years ago! ”

“I flew into Le Touquet on Sunday the 27th Jan from North Weald, along with two other aircraft, the weather was fantastic. It was my first visit, so a student PPL's dream fullfilled at last. The welcome was great as their were ten of us they arranged for the airport minibus to take us into town where we had an excellent lunch.
After a stroll around the town the minibus returned at the appointed time to take us back to the airfield, all for 10 Euro's each, good value. The runway is great and the ATC very good english. A great day out and highly reccomended.”

It's only an hour from my base at 100kts but we decided to stay overnight and it was well worth it (highly recommend Hotel Bristol for 100 Euros). Great chance to eat in town and have a bottle of wine before a stroll round the lovely shops, load up with cheese and delicious fruit/veg before flying back.
100x better than most GA fields in the UK. Highly recommended.
Computer in area next to bikes for self briefing (make sure you know your Met Office log in or use a freebie like euro.propilots etc.
Landing fee and overnight parking 29 Euro for a 172.

“I flew to Le Touquet for the first time on 28th July, thus fulfilling an ambition that caused me to start flying in the first place 4 years ago. The idea of nipping across to this charming town for a spot of first class seafood for lunch just seemed like the coolest thing on earth to do.
Le Touquet is easy to spot, running adjacent to a large river. The ATC are v. friendly and quite happy to speak English. The runway is vast and easy to land on. The facilities are great. I hear that the restaurant n the airport os fab, but we wanted to ge into town. Getting into town was super-easy since there were about 50 seemingly brand new bikes for hire for a relatively small fee, and taxis outside.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.”

“I am suprised that no reviews have appeared on here! Last time I visited, 17/18th seprtmber 2005, there seemed to be more G Reg planes on the apron than French Registered ones!
Very welcoming, both ATC (when they are there...they do not operate Sundays and Wednesdays!), and the terminal staff. ATC talk to you in English, but on non-ATC days you are expected to give your intentions in French. (Check the ATIS on the way over). Landing fees a bit steep (21 Euros), but on non ATC days they will close your flight Plan for you and every day they will fax off your return Plan. They also always ask if you want fuel and the truck comes and does the honours for yoy. Close to town, with a taxi-ride at about 8/10 Euros, or you can hire bikes at 3 Euros and hour, and up to 13 Euros a day. The walk is quite long 30-40 mins. The retsuarant at the airport is not bad, but very busy on Sunday lunch. Other times not bad. Plenty of others in town though.
All in all, a good place to start your 'over-seas' adventures. ”Have you visited |
