| “ | Flew into Campbeltown on 7 July en-route to Oban. The runway (there are actually two parallel - the southern one is a military taxiway/runway) are outrageously long for a SEP, but we managed to land long in the last 1000 metres coming in from the east in order to save the taxi time!
Fuel was available, but we didn't need any and weren't staying. Locals were friendly and like a previous poster, we were number one finals at about 10km. It is a great shame that the airfield isn't available (other than for about 45 minutes) at weekend as this is a truly grat destination. A pleasant walk into town in a spectacular location which is an easy flight from the south. Still well worth a visit though. ” |
