“Flew into Andrewsfield on Sunday 6th Jan runway was in poor condition being very wet and muddy aircraft covered in mud facilities good. Grass reinforcement on taxiway very good”

“Flew in to Andrewsfield last Friday and I'm pleased to say that it has maintained it's standard as a nicely maintained GA airfield. The cafe is pleasant and well patronised by locals as well as aviators and the landing fee was acceptable at £8. There's a Mystere jet decaying slowly near the parking area and a possible "gotcha" is that the vehicle access road runs quite close and parallel to the taxiway. Overall a nice place for the "£100 coffee" trip.”

“Straightforward, a bit muddy after significant rain. Good cafe.”

“My daughter and I paid a visit to Andrewsfield on Easter Monday in our club Tomahawk. I had been informed that the airfield is hard to spot in the fairly featureless terrain of Essex, however if arriving from the south, there is a distinctive row of tall trees almost paralell to the runway. The airfield seems very well run and has a very nice bar\ clubhouse.”

“Flew with a colleague to Andrewsfield today for the first time. Single grass runway on 27 / 09 with LH and RH runways.
PPR by telephone is necessary and it is worth noting that the airfield is in the Stanstead airpsace so it is necessary to stay below 1500 ft QNH in the Andrewsfield LFA. Circuit height is a low 700 ft aal.
Friendly airfield with a small clubhouse that serves good value hot meals. Normal landing fee is £8. ”

“Andrewsfield is in the midst of rural North Essex, not much around for miles. The clubhouse is atmospheric, with lots photos and other memorabilia from when the place was a USAAf base for marauders in WW2. There is a bar and a great selection of hot and cold food served most days, all served up with a very friendly welcome from the staff.”
